Hi everyone, I will share my experience and knowledge to guide you for the BARC radiology written exam and interview. I qualified the written exam with All India Rank (AIR-4) and Interview with All India Rank (AIR-8).
You can join the Interview Guidance Program by filling this form on the link below:
Before going to the details of this exam, I would like to have your attention towards the benefits of cracking this exam. If you get selecvted in both the written and Interview then you will be called for the Medical fitness test in the BARC, Anushakshti Nagar, Mumbai. After qualifying this test, there will be a training for one year and interniship for the second year in TATA Memorial hospital. Selected candidates may easily get the job in this field. It is one of the best option for students which are not from a very good background. The total number of vacancies for this course is 25 every year. Out of twenty-five, few of the seats are reserved for sponsored candidates (having some experience), and they are not required to qualify for the written exam.
Note that physics people would come under the category of non-sponsored candidates. To appear for the interview, they must crack the written test. The written test is comprised of 50 multiple choice questions (MCQs). These questions will be mostly from the subjects that you studied in your masters. There is no negative marking for the wrong answers. Generally, in order to appear for the interview you need to correct around 40 questions out of 50. Every year, around 1500 candidates appear for this written exam and out of which only 125 will reach to the interview round. After the interview, only 25 candidates will be selected. The result for the written exam will be out on that day itself or on the next day. They will conduct the interviews for three consecutive days once the written is finished. They will arrange three interview panels and on each day they will conduct interviews for around 40 students. Based on your written score, a list will be generated and you will be called for the interview. Remember that if you require accomodation in BARC then you have to pay around 500 to BARC for a single day. Otherwise outside it will be very costly. There will be 6 members sitting in a classroom and a blackboard is there for you to write on it. There will be a chairman in every interview panel and mostly sitting in the centre and will start your interview. They can start the interview with your introduction or they can directly ask you which subjects did you prepare for the interview? The duration of Interview is around 30-40 minutes and this interview will be similar to the BARC OCES Interview but they will not go into much details as compare to the OCES Interview. The result will be announced almost after one month of the scheduled interview. As stated above, once the result is out there will be a medical fitness test that will include sugar, blood pressure, urine test, and few basic tests. Once you qualify this medical test, you have to submit the fees required (around 6K)for the training to BARC. The fellowship amount for the selected candidates will be 25K per month during the training period. They will also be provided with accomodation in BARC itself.
