- There is no age limit for the candidates to appear in JEE Main 2022 examination. But the candidate must satisfy themselves about the eligibility of age requirement of Institutes in which they want to enroll.
- Candidates who have passed their class 12th examination or those who are appearing in the class 12th examination or equivalent qualifying examination are eligible to give the JEE entrance examination.
- Candidates who have passed their class 12th examination in this year or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2022 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE 2022 examination.
- Candidates who appeared in class 12th examination in this year but passed in earlier year are also not eligible to appear in JEE Main 2022.
- To apply for IIT JEE Main 2022, a candidate must have studied atleast five subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2.
- Candidates having less than five subjects in their intermediate are not eligible to apply.

From 2022 onwards National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the IIT-JEE Main examination. Earlier it was Central Board of Secondary education (CBSE) who was conducting the examination till 2018.
NTA ensure that none of the candidates gets advantage or have a disadvantage by using Normalization procedure based on percentile scores.
